Hey all!!
This transfer my companion and I made a goal to fast at least once every week for our investigators! Without fail, every time we do we see miracles. (At times I think it's through the faith we exercise in fasting that truly moves the work along! hahah... It's so worth it though!) Often times these miracles don't come in the way we anticipate!
This week we continued teaching our new investigator, named 예림. She's the younger sister of the recent convert I was talking about last week! We met with her several times this weekend--going to mutual on Saturday, teaching her, going to church, and then to family home evening last night at a members house! She is super shy, and slightly awkward... :) but this weekend I've already began to see changes in her! She's really funny... I love her dearly! We extended an invitation to her to be baptized on the 19th of July and she accepted! We are working hard to prepare together!
This week in our member visits, we've been sharing a message from April General Conference by Sister Cheryl A. Esplin called "Filling Our Homes with Light and Truth." In it she shares an analogy of two soda cans--one unopened and one completely empty. When met with pressure, the can which in completely filled is able to withstand it, while the other is easily crushed. A comparison can be made to us as individuals as well as our families! I've come to realized this week just how much the teachings of the gospel blesses families! Families are central to God's plan! The gospel teaches us how to be like Christ, to become better people. As we follow those teachings (in accordance with the programs established in our church), we are able to strengthen our family and the relationships we have in our families. I know that my own family has received many blessings and great strength from living these teachings! I am so grateful for the knowledge that I can be with my family for all of eternity. I love them and miss them dearly. But I am I also so very grateful for the opportunity to devote my life for a time to share this incredibly happy message with others!
Love you all! Have a wonderful week!
