It's been so weird!! I'm so close to where I last served, and live 5 minutes from the mission office. I've already seen so many members, missionaries, and places I know. In some ways it feels like the same place but an alternate dimension. Strangest thing ever...
Anyway!! We are essentially starting from ground zero. No investigators, took over the elder's old apartment, and trying to get ourselves acquainted with the ward.
On the bright side, the ward is SUPER EXCITED to have sister missionaries again. SO EXCITED. Apparently it's been 2 years since the sister's team was replaced with elders. Everyone is very nice and willing to help us out. We're hoping that this excitement sparks a member missionary bonfire... Yesterday was super eventful. In relief society the president asked me to 갑자기 sing a hymn solo for the class (Dear to the Heart of the Shepherd). Also, one of the high priests from Dunsan Ward came to speak at Samsung Ward (coincidentally the same brother who teaches gospel principles over there and that helped with Sister Lee's family's baptism). He shared a bit of the story of the family's conversion... and mentioned I was one of the sisters who taught them... I almost died. Talk about PRESSURE!!
Haha oh well. No choice but to go all out in this place. :)
This morning I was reading in Doctrine and Covenants and stumble upon a gold mine of awesome, inspirational verses. This one has been stuck in my head, perhaps because it is the lyrics of a well known hymn:
"Be thou humble; and the Lord thy God shall lead thee by the hand and give thee answers to thy prayers." (Doctrine and Covenants 112:10)
I know that as we are humble (sometimes by choice and sometimes by consequence... the former being the better option), we understand the need to turn to the Lord. As we turn to Him, He will do just as He promises: He will lift us, strengthen us, guide us, answer us. I know that He loves us! We are never too far gone to feel His love. His hand is always reaching out to us.
LOVE YOU ALL! Have a great week!
Pictures to come next week...
