Week 2 in Korea!!! Ahhh, sometimes it hits me... I'm serving a mission... IN KOREA!! I absolutely love it here in 첨단 (in 광주)!!! The ward I'm serving in is called the best of our mission!! The people are so wonderful and feed us A LOT! I think I've eaten just about all of my favorite foods so far! Also, Korea is SO BEAUTIFUL and GREEN!! At times is reminds me of home (especially since it's been rainy these last couple days).
This week is an exciting week! We've been meeting with one of our progressing investigators, Tae Un. She is a senior in high school, and her mother was recently baptized. We've been meeting with her and she really desires to get baptized. Last night we invited her to be baptized on the 17th of May and she agreed!! I am so excited and feel so blessed to be serving here at this time. She is such a sweet girl and I love her dearly!!
We've also been witnessing all sorts of miracles here in Korea! Saturday a lot of our evening appointments fell through. We had just finished dinner (and started our fast) and were heading to the church to make some quick copies of our English class fliers, when we ran into two potential investigators we had been meeting with--a mother and her teenage daughter (the son was baptized about a year ago or so)! It was seriously perfect timing. We chatted for a bit and then invited us to dinner... it was seriously an answer to our fast! We obliged and went to a nice restaurant by the church! We had a great time--so much food that evening! At the end we shared a scripture, John 14:27. The mother expressed her appreciation for the verse, which talks about peace. She said she had been feeling a lot of anxiety that day, especially in regard to her daughter. That moment was incredible and the spirit was so strong! God truly does guide us, and especially the missionaries!
I have little time to type, but I truly do know that God lives! We are His children and He desires us to be happy! I know that God's way is the only true way to happiness, lasting happiness! When we seek Our Lord in our lives, we can find peace. That peace does not come from any other place in the world! It is only through aligning our hearts with Him. I find this special peace through prayer and also through reading the scriptures! Especially the Book of Mormon. I love that book dearly! I know that is was a gift from Our Father! I am thankful to be able to share this with the people of Korea!
Have a wonderful week!
