Another week down at the MTC! Things are accelerating as we speed through the final three weeks before D day... D being for departure, of course! On Monday of this week we lost 3/5 of our Korean Branch as the missionaries headed to Seoul and Seoul Nam!! My district is now the oldest... which is crazy! We do not feel like we know nearly as much as the eldest district did when we first enterred the MTC. Now I realize it's all a matter of perspective... Ah! We did however get a new district of Korea bound missionaries yesterday--5 new sisters! The Elders in our Korean branch are now outnumbered, 5 to 14. Sisters are taking over!
As always, this week was also jam-packed with all sorts of lessons learned. One of my favorites was reading an article on LDS.org titled "It Isn't a Sin to Be Weak." I absolutely loved it!! One of the biggest points that hit me was that God intentionally gives us weaknesses. It isn't accidental that we struggle with the things that we do and they aren't inherently. He has a purpose in it. In Ether 12:27 it says, "And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them." If we humble ourselves before God and turn toward Him, through His loving grace He will help us make good out of those weaknesses. This does not necessarily mean He will remove them (just like the great prophets of Old, such as Moses), but He will help us. I have experienced this for myself, especially the last 7 weeks I've been here at the MTC.
Anywho, this weekend is Easter! The time where we celebrate the resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ and all that He has done for us. This week I was reading King Benjamin's Address found in the early chapters of Mosiah. Mosiah 2:20-25 expresses my very same thoughts of the Savior... we are forever indebted to Him. He loves us so much and does so much to bless us. All He asks in return in obedience.
It is also conference weekend! What an amazing opportunity we have to hear from a living prophet of God and His apostles! They speak and counsel us according to what God wants us to hear. I hope that each of you will take advantage of this opportunity and come prepared with a question in your heart. If you do so and sincerely seek an answer, you will find it!
Take care my friends!
