BIG CHANGES THIS WEEK!
Today my companion finally came home from the hospital!!! Poor thing... during that time she had permission to have her mom come down from Seoul and stay with her for a few days! Turns out it was her gall bladder! But things seem to be better now. She came back re energized and ready to work!
All of last week I went around in a tripanionship with the other two sisters, Saranquin and Joo Young Un. It was actually super fun and I learned A TON during that time, especially a ton of Korean. It was a bit tricky at first trying to combine our schedules and in the end made for a pretty busy week! Also, last Wednesday Cheomdan Ward had a violin/guitar/saxophone performance night (they hold a class to practice every Wednesday) and I was asked to MC. Ummm... I had no idea why, as I have never MC'd in English before, let alone in Korean! Turned out pretty well though!! All my mistakes just added to the humor of it, and everyone had a great time!
This week we've also been able to meet that new sister, Pak Seo Ra (박서라) quite a bit! She has a lot of free time right now and loves meeting with us! She read the Book of Mormon within three days, and loves learning about the gospel. We're working with her to plan a day for her to be baptized. :) Also, everytime we meet she brings A TON of food! Yesterday she made a HUGE cake for a baptismal service the elders held. Like HUGE!!
Also, this week is TRANSFER WEEK! All of us sisters will be staying in Cheomdan, and we will be getting a NEW SISTER! Sister Ontoria, who's from my MTC district, will be coming down to be companions with the other Filipina, Sister Saranquin. And I will be in a tripanionship with my current companion and Sister Joo!! I'm super excited for this next transfer. Five sister missionaries... Great things to come!!
At times when I feel weak, tired, or a little beat down, I always like to remember Doctrine and Covenants 64:33-34. This scripture helps me regain perspective, that no matter what, none of my efforts go unwasted! "Wherefore, be not weary in well-doing, for ye are laying the foundation of a great work. And out of small things proceedeth that which is great." I know that it is often the smallest of gestures that bring forth the greatest blessings. I encourage you all this week to continually add your goodness to the sum of the goodness in the world!
Love you all!
Onward and Upward!
