SISTER LEE AND HER FAMILY WERE BAPTIZED!!!
It's been a crazy week, because it was actually only a week ago (last Sunday) when they accepted the invitation to be baptized. With lots and LOTS AND LOTS of prayer and fasting, as well as working with a few of the members and the Elders, they were baptized yesterday!! They are some of the most humble and prepared people I have met and taught during my time in Korea. Brought tears to my eyes on a few occasions.
Sister Lee, who actually came from China, has not had the easiest life, yet she is one of the most humble, loving, and charitable people. More than anything else, she has a strong desire to come closer to God and to Christ, and also to build a strong family. Especially as we were preparing her for the interview, she mentioned how her faith was not yet very strong and she had a lot to learn even after baptism... and how she thinks of herself as a kindergartner in the church... she is the essence of someone being as humble as a child.
"And now, because of the covenant which ye have made ye shall be called the children of Christ, his sons and his daughters; for behold, this day he hath spiritually begotten you; for ye say that your hearts are changed through faith on his name; therefore, ye are born of him and have become his sons and his daughters. And under this head ye are made free, and there is no other head whereby ye can be made free. There is no other name given whereby salvation cometh; therefore, I would that ye should take upon you the name of Christ, all thou that have entered into the covenant with God that ye should be obedient unto the end of your lives."
I know that God lives! I know that He loves His children!! I know that He loves us so much that He sent His Son!! I know that it is through His Son that we can be made free, made clean, and made whole!! I know that God gives us direction in our lives, and puts people and occurences in our lives that help bring us closer to Him!! I've witnessed this repeatedly as a missionary... and especially with this wonderful family. I am forever grateful for the opportunity I have to serve here in Korea as His servant. My heart is forever changed.
