Woohoo! Last email from the MTC! It's the final countdown! My district leaves in approximately four days, bound for Korea! It's happening. It's HAPPENING! Still can't get over how fast time goes by here. Feels like the week just started and now it's almost over! It will be sad to leave the MTC and part ways with so many wonderful people I've had a pleasure to meet here. Feeling a bit sentimental here... perhaps all those bye-bye books I've been signing! I love my district so much... they all have such unique experiences and personalities. It's amazing how each of us could come together in the last two months and make our time as special as it has been! I've also been so blessed to serve so many incredible individuals as a Sister Training Leader of the Korean (celestial) branch. I know that God places certain people in our lives for specific reasons... Nothing is a coincidence. After being here at the MTC, I can testify of this truth! I especially am grateful for such a friendly, hilarious, and life-loving companion from Samoa. We would have never come to know each other through any others means than through choosing to serve our Lord. As far as the Korean goes... I at least know enough to know that I know pretty much nothing! I've pretty much accepted, along with the rest of my district, that come next week we will be hit hard by the language train. But's it all good! Because our purpose is not to learn the language, but to represent Christ and love His children in Korea. Language is simply a tool! (And will come with time... and many, many painfully awkward learning experiences.) Anywho, this week we had Elder Zwick come speak to us for our Tuesday Devotional! He and His wife shared some profound insights on the Atonement of Jesus Christ. The Atonement IS what it's all about!!! It's what enables us to fulfill our purpose here on Earth!!! It was not a backup plan instituted after the Fall of Adam and Eve, but it was ALWAYS the plan! It helps cleanse us (through repenting of our sins), consoles us and strengthens us (during times of disappointment, discouragement, pain... All that is unfair about life can be made right through the Atonement of Jesus Christ.) Above all else, it is INFINITE! It's something that we, as mortals with mortal brains, won't ever be able to fully comprehend in this life. I would like to invite each of you to study more intensely about the Atonement and seek out how to better use to in your lives, everyday. Here at the MTC I've witnessed the power of the Atonement! It's through the atonement that we can fully change into the best people we can be. Love you all! I will try to include photos next week! Sister Hatch |
