I have few words that can explain the fullness of my amazement, wonder, and joy that I've felt this last week... everything is just falling perfectly into place with this family we've been teaching (Sister Lee, who does nail art)... it leaves my with a profound respect for the Lord and His perfect wisdom and timing. My gratitude and joy are a bit overwhelming!! This last week I realized a bit more of the plan God has for me in sending me to Korea!
None of the members have yet taken us up on the invitation to get their nails done... but by a series of events (which neither me nor my companion can take much credit for), this family was able to meet and have dinner with one of the members of our ward--a brother who has a passion for the gospel and burning testimony of its ability to bless families! He is also the gospel principles teacher and has a deep knowledge of church history (not just ours... but basically religion in general). Over dinner we were able all discuss and answer many of Sister Lee's questions. It could not have gone better! This meeting helped open the door for us to really teach the mom... something that we've been really struggling to do!
The next day the family came to church, along with the less active member who referred the family to us (originally purely as English interest... as most referrals here go haha). Everything went super well--they even came early to attend the gospel principles class where this brother continued to teach much of the restoration. We were able to finish up the lesson later that afternoon when we met with them at there home... The spirit was so strong as we continued to discuss the restoration of the precious truths that God has given us to gain peace and happiness in this life, as well as to live joyfully as family lives for eternity. She agreed to study, ponder, and pray about the things we taught to her.
She loves it all-- our focus on families, our service orientated belief, our standards (even the Word of Wisdom!!)--and we are praying so hard for her and her family to continue on this path towards eternal joy with one another!
Some days as I missionary I feel so tired... my heart broken from rejection and disappointment... the frustration of not being able to understand nor communicate completely...
but nothing compares to the joy that comes when I witness others coming closer to their Savior. Seeing the light and brightness begin to shine in their countenances. Watching the love of the savior heal broken or wounded hearts.
And realizing that the Lord has given me the opportunity to be a part of something like this... I am overwhelmed with sweet gratitude.
I know this gospel is true!! It is perfect. Jesus Christ is Our Savior. I testify of Him.
Be not weary in well doing for ye are laying the foundation of a great work. And out of small things proceedeth that which is GREAT!
