Hey ya'll!!
So... just received our transfer call! Turns out the Filipina sisters, Ontoria and Saranquin, will be moving to another house out of Cheomdan area, Sister Joo will be moving up North to Cheonan, my first companion, Sister Ha, will stay in Cheomdan as a tri-panionship with me for a time, then spend time as a traveling Sister AP, and... I will be training. 대박... It will be an adventure! :)
Anywho, this week was pretty great! The two filipina sisters and I got roped into competing in Robert Holley's English speech contest... They were a bit low on competitors and thought it would be fun to hear relatively fresh missionaries speak Korean. Hahaha. Wrote our speeches pretty much the day before, due to the short notice. We all got free Liahona magazine subscriptions for participating. :) It was actually a lot of fun! Our investigator Wang Ji Hyun, from China, participated in the English competition. She was super awesome! We also set a baptismal date with her for the second week in September. :)
This week I've come to realize how important happiness is! We've been sharing this scripture with a few of the members here: "And it came to pass that we lived after the manner of happiness." (2 Nephi 5:27) God has promised to bless those who obey His Commandments! He always keeps His promises. This scripture does not, however, say that these people lived "easily" or "wealthily" or even "healthily." Happiness is a state of internal well-being, something that comes to those who desire to draw near to Heavenly Father. I know that no matter what happens in our lives, no matter what circumstances or trials, we can always live happily so long as we are close to our Father in Heaven.
Have a wonderful week!
Love,
Sister Hatch
